How It Works
Cake is designed to allow you to build your own summer program based on your interests. It is a point-based program; for every fifty (50) points earned, you gain one (1) ticket for the final drawing. The more tickets you have, the better your chances for cool prizes, so earn as many points as you can! Cake has only one (1) Rule. You must read one (1) book. The rest of your program is up to you.
Points can be won in a variety of ways, from reading books, to participating in our regular and special events, to attending a yoga class, to working a summer job! View the Points Guide for a complete list of point-winning activities and events. More points may be added depending on time and effort exerted. These points are decided at Scott and Brandon’s discretion. Check out the Calendar for a complete guide to all our activities this summer. Even our regular daily programs count for points!

So how do you join in on the fun? Easy! Sign up now and get started. (If you don't have a valid email address you will have to sign up in person at the YA desk.) Once you've signed up and received your ID number from us, you can begin turning in Activity Logs of the books you've read and events you've participated in. We'll have a running tally of points available here on the web, so you can compare your progress with that of your peers.
There is one more very important thing to do: Before you are eligible for any prizes, you must turn in an Honor System / Permission Form with your signature and your parent's signature. A separate parental signature on this form is also required before you may participate in most of the out-of-library activities. The permission form lists all the activities that require permission.
